To provide support to OMCS gaining experience of all aspects of both the Order Management and Customer Support areas of the department. Gain an understanding and experience of the OMCS interaction with all areas within Cummins and the commercial interactions with customers.

First point of contact for customer base for general enquiries, and provide prompt and efficient service:

  • Liaison within all areas of Cummins to ensure all customer requirements are met

  • Analyse and process customer enquiries in regard to internal sales, technical departments and distribution issues and status, and provide professional response to the customer with either documented or verbal communication as appropriate.

  • Gain experience of scheduling requirements for local and global supply liaising with local factory and Synchronised Business Planning

  • Lead the completion of process controls including all SOX requirements

  • Maintain customer profiles for order entry use and part number proliferation

  • Creation and maintenance of customer order-boards

  • Visit customers as required to develop and maintain working relationship

  • Ensure attention to detail in delivering customer needs onto the required systems.

  • Lead and implement 1 project across the year that improve the efficiency, accuracy and productivity of the OMCS department

  • Lead and implement 1 project across the year that improve for a customer or segment the way they interact and do business with Cummins

Qualifications

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills, present mature response to the customer and interact professionally both internally and externally

  • Effective Liaison to sales managers, present factual information and develop customer profiles

  • Intelligence gathering

  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

Required education, licenses, certifications: studying for a degree in Business Administration or related discipline

Experience

  • Experience of previous customers service roles preferred

  • Timely and efficient processing of customer documentation to pre-determined targets, whilst maintaining controlled process

  • Provision of Order Acknowledgments for customer base to agreed timescales and process control

  • Liaise with plant scheduler for available build requirements to meet with customer requests

  • Completion of cancellation of customer requests / orders, completion of process controls

  • Comply with established regulatory procedures within the distribution of machines to both home and export markets, i.e. inco terms, custom / duty regulatory provisions

  • Provide sickness and holiday cover within the wider OMCS group as required

  • Communication of lead-times to customer base

  • Liaise with local factory for delivery to promise date

  • Act as “conscience of organisation” with respect to assisting sales managers with specific customer decisions

  • Personal and site responsibility for health and safety issues
