We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Supply Chain Planner in Peterborough. This is a key role in our business to develop and implement supply chain strategies, creating solutions that are efficient and effective from a cost, process and people perspective.

Your impact will be seen in these and other ways:

  • Plan and maintain daily supply chain operations for critical suppliers or customers in materials, production, inventory, logistics, customer service, demand management, or order fulfillment.

  • Achieve and continuously improve customer service levels, and/or manage inventory levels and targets, and managing supply and demand within the Supply Chain.

  • Ensure internal and external customers' expectations and requirements are met.

  • Manage the daily operational processes for a critical segment of the supply chain.

  • Eliminate potential supply chain failures as part of the daily planning process.

  • Champion preventive practices to eliminate expediting to supply chain leadership as appropriate to prevent problems.

  • Lead cross functional stakeholders to develop and implement short and mid-term tactical improvements

  • Comply with communication plans and processes to ensure stakeholders’ needs are met.

  • Leverage common processes tools, and information systems

  • Approve system strategies and advise on changes to planning systems parameters as required.

  • Analyze and interpret KPIs to identify areas for improvement and action plans.

  • Lead Six Sigma and functional process improvement teams.

  • Liaise with functional stakeholders to mitigate mid-term supplier or customer constraints.

  • Mentor and coach supply chain planners.

  • Ensure common processes are being utilized and internal controls are in place


To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Existing experience working in supply chain within a multi-site, manufacturing environment including; demand planning, order management, inventory control is essential for this position.

  • Previous experience working on six sigma projects would be beneficial.

  • Demonstrable experience in supply chain cost optimization and improvements,

  • To be data driven with a strong attention to detail

  • The ability to coach and mentor others with a focus on encouraging high performance.

  • To be an influencer of change, institutionalizing a culture of simplification and standardization.

  • A natural problem solver, using Root cause analysis tools to create strategic corrective action

Required Education, Licenses or Certifications

  • A university/ college qualification is desirable.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary between £36 – 37,000 depending on experience

  • Defined contribution pension scheme - company contributions up to 9%

  • Annual bonus plan - target 8% (based upon company performance)
