Material Planning Team Leader
This is a very exciting opportunity in Peterborough for an experienced Material Planning Team Leader. In this role you will plan and maintain daily supply chain operations for critical suppliers or customers in key functions such as; materials, production, inventory, logistics, customer service, demand management, and order fulfillment. You will ensure that internal and external customers' expectations and requirements are met whilst continuously striving to improve customer service levels.
This position is heading a brand new department and it is perfect for you if you are looking for the opportunity to make a name for yourself in a global organization. You will be able to build your own team from the ground up as well as be a key influencer in Continuous Improvement initiatives for the center.
Your impact will be seen in these and other ways:
Ensure internal and external customers' expectations and requirements are met.
Manage the daily operational processes for a critical segment of the supply chain.
Eliminate potential supply chain failures as part of the daily planning process.
Champion preventive practices to eliminate expediting to supply chain leadership as appropriate to prevent problems.
Lead cross functional stakeholders to develop and implement short and mid-term tactical improvements.
Create communication plans and processes to ensure stakeholders’ needs are met.
Leverage common processes tools, and information systems.
Approve system strategies and advise on changes to planning systems parameters as required.
Analyze and interpret KPIs to identify areas for improvement and action plans.
Lead Six Sigma and functional process improvement teams.
Liaise with functional stakeholders to mitigate mid-term supplier or customer constraints.
Ensure common processes are being utilized and internal controls are in place.
Skills and Experience Required:
To be a success in this role you will need:
A proven track record of working in a fast-paced Supply Chain environment with knowledge of how each function works to meet customer requirements.
An understanding of inventory control and management principals and how they impact the local and global supply chain.
To be data driven with exceptional analytical skills to solve problems and draw meaningful conclusions.
To enjoy being a positive and motivational leader, encouraging open communication and the sharing of ideas from all levels.
To be an advocate for continuous improvement and always looking for ways to optimize work processes.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary up to £42,000 plus an 8% variable bonus (paid annually based on company performance)
