We are looking for a talented Business Development professional to join our team specializing in influencing customers and driving growth for our Cummins Generator Technologies business.The role is headquartered in Peterborough, UK but we will consider exceptional remote candidates based in UK/Europe.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Responsible for opportunity management which includes identifying new growth opportunities and managing new business growth for a key market segment or in a specified region or channel.

  • Works with sales, marketing, and product leaders to identify strategies targeting growth by participating in efforts such as strategy workshops.

  • Manages the analysis, measurement, and tracking of market sales potential across assigned brands, channels, regions, products, etc.

  • Champions new growth and product ideas; manages special projects that have cross regional implications.

  • Builds processes and procedures to understand competition and input to market lead pricing propositions for designated areas.

  • Collaborates with internal business managers on business development initiatives and plans.

  • Identifies department issues, problems, and opportunities to support continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Manages the efficient transition of converted opportunity to account support team.

  • Project manage specific key BD initiatives to the point of Business ownership and adoption

  • Travel and attend forums, tradeshows and other events to seek and source BD opportunities

  • Define, scope and lead specific Deep dives on global markets, technologies, and application segments to gain wider understanding of available opportunities in current space and adjacent ones [alternators, motors, complimentary]

  • Create a process by which CGT brands become more widely visible in Approved Vendor Lists from major global end customers [Utilities, O&G, EPCs etc]

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • College, university, or equivalent experience in sales, marketing, technical or a related subject required.

  • Significant experience within selling technical products - motors, generators or rotating machines preferred

  • Fully understand the Value chain. Be able to determine strategic requirements to address the needs of each level within, with the aim to increasing influence

  • Ability to be adaptable and understanding of regional and cultural working styles to aid influencing

  • Proven ability to interact with customers from both commercial and technical perspectives
