Senior Battery Managment Systems Engineer
This is an exciting opportunity to join Accelera by Cummins BMS team at the start of projects which will serve as basis for the new family of batteries using cells from a joint development with industry giants. Working in the BMS team will expose you to all areas of electric vehicles. The tasks involve all stages of development cycle, from component requirements creation all the way to vehicle validation. Being self-motivated, possessing the ability to challenge norms, having a strategic mindset and robust knowledge of Functional Safety will be essential attributes for the successful candidate. We are looking for a talented Senior Battery Management Systems Engineer to join our team in Milton Keynes (Hybrid).
You will make an impact in the following ways:
Being responsible for reviewing high level battery requirements and breaking them down to BMS level. That will require understanding about basic BMS functionalities, hardware, software, EV topologies and architecture.
V&V tasks creation, DFMEA, fault trees, diagnostics definition, test data analysis and application of problem-solving methodology to technical issues will be part of daily activities.
Giving support to Functional Safety and Cyber Security teams.
Evaluating standards and producing documentation for BMS regulation and certification.
Reviewing algorithms and tests results to ensure BMS is properly covering warranty related data (SoH, SoP, life counters).
Proposing improvement related to R&D.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
Prior Senior or Lead Engineer equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline area is required with a demonstrated track record of technical problem solving and quality decision making.
Academic background in electronics and/or software.
Experience with electronics systems design, validation and requirements definition.
Experience with Functional Safety and Cybersecurity is desirable.
Experience with CANalyzer and PLM Windchill Integrity is desirable.
