This is an exciting opportunity in Milton Keynes for a Principal Scientist.

Cummins Electrified Power are a leading provider of flexible battery solutions for demanding automotive and power applications .

Your impact will be seen in these and other ways:

  • By using your detailed knowledge and understanding ofelectrochemical properties and materials chemistry of Li-ion energy storage cell technology to provide support for Customer, R&D and new product introduction projects.

  • By providing leadership and mentorship to a team of scientists and technicians.

  • By leading and managing R&D projects in order to deliver against agreed budget, time and scope parameters.

  • By performing in-house research, testing and analysis, writing technical reports and participating in review meetings

Qualifications

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Substantial work or research into the field of electro-chemistry

  • You will have significant experience with li-ion batteries (ideally in the automotive industry but not essential)

  • You will have strong knowledge and understanding of electrochemical properties and materials chemistry, idea from both a commercial and research based Li-ion energy storage cell technology background.

  • Additional knowledge in supercapacitor technology would be an asset.

  • Prior experience in a leadership or management role, leading projects as well as providing guidance to less experienced members of the team

  • The ability to work collaboratively, and communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders

Required Education, Licenses or Certifications

  • PhD, Masters of Science, Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree in engineering, chemistry or physical sciences required.

Compensation and Benefits

In return we can offer a salary between £46,320 - £63,690 (dependent on experience).
