This is an exciting opportunity in Milton Keynes for a Functional Safety Manager.

Your impact will be seen in these and other ways:

  • Working within Cummins’ rapidly growing Electrified Power Business Unit, you will take overall ownership for the development of Functional Safety processes and procedures within Powertrain product development.

  • You will leverage your experience of the ISO26262 Automotive Functional Safety framework to offer leadership and guidance to Engineering Leaders, component suppliers and customers in the area of Functional Safety.

  • You will ensure products meet the requirements of internationally-recognised Functional Safety standards, namely ISO26262 (or its parent standard, IEC61508).

  • You will maintain your knowledge of Functional Safety industry best practice and legislation changes, ensuring that internal policies are continually updated, and that engineering practices comply with this policy.

  • You will collaborate with internal software and hardware development teams, as well as external electronic component suppliers, to ensure full compliance with ISO26262.

  • You will specify and perform system hazard and risk analysis.

You will facilitate functional safety audits, collate and report findings to senior management, and provide recommendations for product or process changes.
