Electrical Design Engineer
We are looking for a talented Electrical Commodity Engineer to join our team specializing in Engineering Design for our New Power Business Unit in Milton Keynes / Your home office
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Full ownership and technical understanding of standards and guidelines across the Design and Release of Low Voltage Electrical Components and Electrical Distribution Systems (EDS) across various battery programs.
Promotes strong people skills and the ability to work individually and in a cross functional team; key suppliers, stakeholders, quality, manufacturing, purchasing, multiple sites across Columbus and service departments in the USA.
Lead technical challenges and execute resolutions to ensure that all changes are implemented robustly and support program objectives and functional requirements.
Execute and manage timing plans that achieve Program milestones and targets (Quality, Cost, Functionality, Weight, and timing).
Work effectively with various design team engineers and ensure a flexible approach in providing information from concept through to design phases.
Lead suppliers through design phases, procurement of prototypes, production tooling and ensure components perform to requirements.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or other relevant technical disciplines is required.
Previous experience within the automotive / aerospace / rail and military industries
Technical understanding and analysis of Low Voltage Component Design, Low Voltage Design Systems, Invertors, motors, battery packs, Electrical Functionality and complex Harness design.
Expertise in EDS & Components standards and design guidelines, electrical component cross-functional product development, control systems hardware, including sensor technology, control software and diagnostics, electrical design FMEA’s and Design Validation Plans.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary: £40,000 -£47,000
Defined contribution pension scheme - company contributions up to 9%
Annual bonus plan - target 8% (based upon company performance)
