Ethics and Compliance Director - Europe & Russia


We are looking for a talented professional to join our Ethics & Compliance team , supporting our business across Europe and Russia .

The position will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategy for Ethics and Compliance in Europe and Russia, and serving as the leader for ethics and compliance matters in these regions, supporting senior leadership, business and functions.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Leading the implementation of the corporate ethics and compliance strategy while also developing a fit-for-market regional compliance program, including policy development, anti-corruption initiatives, program evaluation and strategy for the regions.

  • Focuses on high risk areas of compliance to Cummins including bribery, conflict of interest, risks posed by third parties who represent Cummins in the marketplace, and data privacy.

  • Working collaboratively with Internal Audit, Legal, HR and other stakeholders to recommend and/or drive process improvements, including Cummins’ ability to detect and prevent compliance failures.

  • Leading the implementation of a face-to-face training program for employees, JVs and third parties to supplement the Cummins online compliance training program.

  • Leading third party compliance initiatives in the ABO working closely with the distribution channel and the business units.

  • Supporting the Cummins Global Data Privacy team in implementing the Data Privacy Programs initiatives at the regional level, including compliance with new data privacy regulation in the relevant countries.

  • Identify gaps in the region related to the Privacy Program or privacy regulations and propose solutions in conjunction with the Global Data Privacy team; Serving as a Data Privacy Officer for the jurisdictions within the region, or overall for the region, as per applicable legal requirements and where necessary, serving as the first point of contact to governmental regulatory authorities for inquiries and reviews, in close collaboration with the Legal function.

  • Ensure employees are aware of Cummins’ Code of Business Conduct and taking action to make sure it is followed.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Ability to develop a fit-for-market compliance strategy and work with corporate and regional leadership to ensure implementation.

  • Compliance, ethics, and anti-bribery and enterprise risk management experience in an international company

  • Legal background and experience (eg. academics) strongly preferred

  • Exposure to similar level position within a relevant field (e.g., Ethics & Compliance, Internal Audit, Legal, Risk Management) strongly preferred, but not required.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills. Ability to manage conflict and engage with cross functional, senior stakeholders.

  • Languages: English- fluent; fluency in additional European languages strongly preferred but not required.
