Placement - Value Package Introduction

We run an exciting 12 month placement where you are given an opportunity to work in a role and on real projects making a difference in both your team and the company as a whole. You will received on the job training and take part in a structured Training & Development Programme designed to give the skills and competencies required for future graduate roles.
Located within the Daventry manufacturing site, the Value Package Introduction department is responsible for the smooth introduction of new engine and Gen Set models into production, Current and new variants of V12, V16 & V18 diesel and gas engines up to 3500hp used in mining, industrial, loco, marine and power generation applications. Gen Set variant QST30 to QSV91 50 and 60 hertz
Attend Design Review Meeting.
Complete Engine Design Reviews for VPI Department.
Write Engine Process Documentation.
Record & Update Issues Data base.
Organise and Lead Meeting with Stake Holder.
Resolve Manufacturing issues.
Support VPI Engine and Gen Set Builds through the Manufacturing Process.
College, university, or equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related subject required.
Preferred Discipline: Mechanical Engineering/Automotive Engineering
Teamwork / Communication / Working with cross functional groups.
Practical approach to support technical evaluation.
Ability to manage own projects
The role will provide excellent experience for your CV and an introduction to an engineering role in industry. A mentor will be there to guide you through your placement year. The following training will be provided;
Training in Corporate systems such as Oracle, and familiarisation with other business software (such as Creo/Pro engineer etc.)
Coaching to enable the development of other business skills.
4 x 1 day workshops through an external training provider: Adapting to Professional Environments, Effective Communication and Presentation Skills, Team Work, Customer Care.
