This is an exciting opportunity in Daventry for a Lead Supplier Quality Improvement Engineer

Your impact will be seen in these and other ways:

  • Work cross-functionally with peers, stakeholders and purchasing leaders to ensure effective sourcing strategies.

  • Leads Supplier Improvement Programs for commodity suppliers when applicable.

  • Conducts audits at supplier sites & ensures that issues are identified, documented and closed out.

  • Generates annual and 3 year plans for strategic suppliers, including KPI and other initiatives.

  • Supports Corporate Leaders and SQI to evaluate investment requirements that will ensure improved supplier quality performance.

  • Being an expert in Process Control Plan & FMEA tools and techniques is essential.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills are essential.


Skills and Experience Required:

  • Experience working with the following tools and procedures: PPAP/ SCAR/ MNC/ SCR/APQP / ZDM

  • 8D problem solving skills are essential

  • Experience working towards: TS16949/ IATF 16949 standards

  • A good understanding of lean manufacturing or six sigma methodology.

  • Ability work under little supervision - autonomous at suppliers.

  • Experience working in a quality environment - Plant Quality, Supplier Quality.

  • Project management skills are required.

  • Experience of complex forging, casting, machining and welding processes is required.

Required Education, Licenses or Certifications

  • Time served Engineer (ONC/ Apprenticeship/ HNC/ HND) Degree would be advantageous

  • 6 Sigma certified would be an advantage

  • A full driving license is required along with the flexibility to spend time away from home

Compensation and Benefits

£39,280 - £54,010
