This is an exciting opportunity in Daventry, UK for an Applied Mechanics Engineer.
Your impact will be seen in these and other ways:
By planning, conducting and reporting on experiments via both third party and in-house tools to determine structural performance of components and systems
By measuring operational deflection shapes during machine operation to determine modal frequencies and their amplitudes
By providing oversight for strain gauge placement, data reduction and interpretation.
By the fatigue testing of components including setting up of test fixtures for components to test durability against service life requirements
Through working collaboratively with customers to design fixtures in order to test specific components with respect to wear, fatigue, fretting, and overload
By working collaboratively internally with the Design, Thermal Sciences, Materials and Product Validation groups
* Skills and Experience Required *
You will have some experience planning and executing tests / experiments on diesel engines previously.
You will have an understanding of the following principles and their effect on engines;Fatigue and Durability, Noise and Acoustics, Dynamics and Vibration
You will be comfortable in a practical environment around engines.
You will have a mix of experience using Matlab, LabVIEW, nCode, Siemens and Test.Lab.

College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other relevant technical disciplines is required.

In return we can offer a salary of between£32,491 to £39,710and an excellent benefits package
