Payroll Analyst

Description

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Administers and participates in payroll processing activities for various payroll groups including the preparation, processing and balancing of payroll.

  • Completes year end process including year-end adjustments, year-end tax statements and review of year-end tax filing information.

  • Reviews the information prepared for general ledger entries and other accounting and financial reporting activities associated with payroll.

  • Ensures payments are calculated and paid accurately and timely; ensures proper calculation of taxes and deductions and administers and processes payroll according to internal procedures.

  • Serves as an internal and external resource on payroll related inquiries

  • Participates in continuous improvement projects and initiatives; supports the development and maintenance of payroll process documentation.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Payroll Administration skills – you can translate company policies, tax and legislative requirements in the delivery of accurate and timely employee payments and reporting; ensure compliance with applicable regulations and internal control procedures.

  • Communicates effectively - Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences

  • Decision quality - Making good and timely decisions that keep the organization moving forward and that are customer focused, can build strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions.

  • Optimizes work processes - Knowing the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

  • College, university, or equivalent degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field or equivalent experience required

Experience

  • An understanding of UK Statutory legislation, Maternity, Paternity, Adoption, SSP, PAYE, NI, Court Orders etc.

  • Good Excel and Word skills and the ability to produce pivot tables, VLOOKUP

  • Experience of using Time Management, Payroll and HR systems.

  • Maintaining and updating standard operating procedures inDocument Management System.

  • Analytical problem-solving skills to help resolve complex issues and ability to use own initiative and be proactive

Salary

  • £29,360 - £44,040
